GoingLive - Locations

Linnworks has 2 types of Locations

Fulfilment Location

Fulfilment locations are used when a 3rd party is used to ship the orders on your behalf instead of from your own warehouse.

This can be split into 2 main areas as follows

Amazon FBA

  • Fulfilment By Amazon allows for orders to be assigned directly to Amazon for them to fulfil on your behalf
  • You must have an FBA accout with Amazon
  • The FBA Account must be enabled as part of your Amazon Integration
  • Ignore Sync is set up in mapping to ensure stock levels from Linnworks are not submitted to Amazon

Fulfilment Centre

  • Fulfilment Centres allows linnworks to send orders and receive inventory levels via FTP using a Flat File format.
  • Orders
    • FTP settings must be configured
    • Column mapping for Order Export must be configured to send orders
    • Column mapping for Order Import must configures to receive confirmation of shipped orders and tracking numbers
  • Inventory
    • FTP settings must be configured

Location

Linnworks is capable of tracking stock level for the same item in multiple locations. This feature can be used in two ways:

  • 1. Track stock level in another geographical location i.e. your stock is stored in two separate places for example Warehouse 1 and Warehouse 2
  • 2. Track stock level at a Supplier or a Drop Shipper

If a Channel is set up to use Multiple Locations for advertising Inventory Linnworks will always download orders to the Default Location, to assign an order to a specific Location this must be achieved through the use of an Order Automation Script as Linnworks does not know the business rules that need to be applied.
